Movie Day 2
Today in class we watched the same we did in yesterday's
class. This time the video talked about Julius Caesar and how he came to power.
Caesar used his power and his political fame to help him gain power. Caesar destroyed
armies of all nations and expanded the Roman Empire greatly. Caesar also did
not comply with all the rules. One rule was that you must break up your army
before entering Rome. Caesar did not follow that rule and matched into Rome victoriously.
Caesar would end up facing one of his old friends Pompey because the Senate
hired Pompey to protect the republic and its people. This started a civil war
in Rome. So, Pompey left the city to gain a better advantage on Caesar. Pompey
had 44,000 men compared to Caesar’s 22,000 men. But Caesar still ends up victorious
in beating Pompey and becoming an emperor of Rome.
