Finished the Declaration of Independence

     Today in class we finished discussing in depth about the Declaration of Independence. We discussed the list of why the colonists were braking away from Britain. They said that they were being taxed without representation and that their governors had no power if at any time the British could just say no to their laws. The colonists also said that the king has neglected to negotiate with the colonists and has just sent more taxes and soldiers. They were also mad that they were hiring mercenaries to help them fire the colonists. Then at the end of the declaration, they explain what they are going to do. They say that they will break away from Britain. They aren’t only telling the British, but they are also telling the rest of the world that they are now not related to Britain. After that, we just reviewed the chapter to discussed what would be on your test tomorrow.
