The Voting System
Today in class we started to mini project the we will
present to the class about an article in the Constitution. But before that we
talked a little bit on our voting process. We talked about how some states like
Wyoming have fewer votes compared to states like California. We also talked
about how it’s easier to get votes in smaller states compared to bigger states.
For big states, you need six hundred to nine hundred thousand votes just for
one electoral vote. Mr. Schick then talked about how he thinks the voting
should be. He thinks every person should have an equal vote compared to what we
have now with votes not being even. I personally think the voting should be
equal, but make it equal in a different way. If we get rid of the electoral
college, the bigger states will be bad. If we allow everyone have an equal
vote, the system I feel will be disorganized and messed up. Sure, we have
technology to help us, but it will still be a task trying to organize the whole
system.
